Grey Heron Spey

Gotta love the look of a spey! The most recent
version above is a time-intensive retie using some donated materials
and a lot of CARE! The first version below was an earlier traditional
re-time, and the bottom version is a concoction using basic materials
and hackle-tip wings, and is one of my first ties. One of the main
things I got "wrong" in my earliest spey ties was the
length of the wing; one look above and below easily shows the difference
between a traditional rendition and the more "streamer"
style that my earlier attempts took on. The key is Practice, and
as I recently also learned, the BEST QUALITY materials.
