the Sparrow

Sparrow
This pattern was initially introduced to me via
the TSS Fly Swaps. Below is my own variation, which utilizes pheasant
rump down feathers and Green Pearl Chenille for the midsection.
Hook - Streamer, typically sizes 4-8
Aft Hackle - 1/3 shank with Pheasant Rump Down
Body - Pearl Chenille (middle 1/3 of the shank)
Fore Hackle - Same as aft (front 1/3 of the snake; I like to use
a larger feather for the front).
While it again appears that there are SEVERAL variations
on the Sparrow, this is another fly that seems to have a consistent
reputation as deadly. I can't wait to get it in the water!
