Southeastern Wisconsin (SE WI) Lake Michigan
Tributaries - Oak Creek
Oak Creek
The smallest of my four main tribs, Oak Creek hosts an excellent but sporadic spring Steelhead run. The fall run on Oak Creek primarily consists of Cohos and Browns, as well as a fair amount of Steelhead. Additionally, stocker rainbow trout from the Oak Creek Mill Pond Urban Fishery occasionally find their way downstream and onto our lines. By far one of the more scenic streams in the region, with 100% public land for easy access.
A very "tempermental" fishery, Oak Creek
is subject to heavy pressure during the peaks of the runs, especially
on weekends. Runs are measured in days and hours, not weeks, and
a run can easily be wiped out by a weekend of harvest. Timing is
critical to success on Oak Creek.
