Minnesota River Flow / Temp Data

USGS - this is where your flow data actually comes from!
Flow Data from the USGS via the Steelhead Site - easier to navigate than going directly to the USGS website but some links may be broken.
Michigan Sea Grant Coastwatch - Lake Superior Surface Conditions - between the flows, the weather and the lake suface temps you can start to figure out if the fish are close to shore or far out.

Minnesota Weather Data

Accuweather.com - only place I've been able to find forecasted precipitation amounts.

Weather.com - I admit it, I do use the Weather Channel's website most often. You can type in the name,state if you don't have a zip (Kenosha's results are bookmarked on my home computer.

Minnesota Fly Fishing Guides, Fishing Guides & Charters*

*A note about the guides I link to - I'm only going to list folks I've fished with or know REALLY well. I've always considered a link to a guide to be my personal endorsement; I'm not going to send YOU to someone I don't know firsthand (and therefore can't really recommend).

The Fly Guys - Brian Swartling and Todd Olson are a blast; when planning our first trip out in SE MN they decided that since it was just going to be a fun outing for all of us, we'd have to hit the hardest, most humbing stream in the state. 2 out of the three of us had got our asses handed to us that day by some of the most difficult trout I've fished. Read all about it in the report from 9-5-04. What else can I say other than I look forward to sharing the water with these guys again - especially considering that some of the MN streams are only minutes way from FAT's basecamp in Dorchester, IA (see the IA links).

Stewart Fishing Co. - another sent in by a RR Reader - "Stewart Fishing Company in Red Wing Minnesota. They're closer than anybody else to the SE minnesota streams, and the fellow who owns it, Brian Stewart is very generous with "where to fish" information. He also keeps a website BB that sees regular reports on fish in the stream..."

Minnesota Fishing-Related Clubs

Minnesota Trout Unlimited (TU) - as of August '04, they are currently working on getting improved regulations in place for the SE MN trout streams.
Lake Superior Steelhead Association - submitted by a RR reader - "the club has done A LOT to help steelhead in Lake Superior, and even in other Great Lakes".
