Quick report, don't need to go into great detail
here, look at the reports from days and weeks past if you need "INFORMATION"!
Got out around 8:30 pm after a long wait for Chromeseeker.
My new 9' 6" spinning rod from Justin (Alaskan
Rod Crafters) had just shown up (I think it's on a Rainshadow
blank...looks fantastic)! My only special request, all blue Zirconia
guides. The thing is SWEET and only set me back $70. Was that friend
pricing? I don't know. But man, did I get a lot of compliments on
that rod. So light too! Bart's St. Croix felt like a "tank
rod" compared to this thing! Thanks Justin!
Bart lent me this awesome TICA spinning reel to
throw on it and we lined it up with 8lb Yozuri (spelling..I'll have
to look!). Well, the thing casts great. Bart still has a better
cast than me, but this thing sure beats the old hand-me-down / repaired
from junk at garage sale spinning outfits I own (aka. CARP RODS).
In total, there were 5 of us out that evening,
and by 9:30 I hooked into a nice fish! At first I though it was
small...definitely felt the strike and the fish was definitely fighting.
Turns out I whip up a nice brown, probably 6-7lbs. Man, that rod
really holds its ground against a fish! And I'll tell you now, that
was one tastey brown..it fed 6 of us! Once again, Frank Nardomarino's
Mango-Citrus-Salsa Trout. MMM MMM GOOD!
