9-21-03 - Is this the last of 2003 Inland Trout
for MP?!
Waters Fished: Paradise Springs
Fish Caught: 3/5
Outing Date: 9-21-03
Weather: Breezy
Air Temp: 70's
Water Temp: Didn't take it
Water Level: Normal
Water Color: Clear, some surface debris/algae, center of pond was
blue/cloudy?
Fish Species: Brown Trout, Brook Trout
Pattern Fished: Griffith's Gnat, PT Nymph
Pattern Color: Naturals
Fishing Quality: Always Tough, this was a good day!
So what do you do when you've really sleep-deprived
yourself and then slept all day, only to stay up LATE and then get
up at a normal time? You go fishing!
But where? Nothing is going on in the local Tribs.
Bart was up with Jacek at Manitowoc, Sheboygan, Kewaunee etc. My
two "houseguests" for the week were still asleep at noon!
I needed to go fishing....I'm not waiting any longer.
So the "where" was answered with Paradise
Springs. Gotta test the skills on some whily trout! Turned out I
wasn't the only one who had that idea today...2 other anglers came
and went while I was there, neither turned anything!
But all the same a good day. Casting under the
overhanging trees is always a good idea and I got two nice browns
that way...just cast to the sipping feeders. Only problem is that
you lose about a dozen flies each day with all that you tree. Totally
burned through a leader today as well!
However, the brookie was a bit of a surprise...I've
watched these two brookies pal-around the pond all summer...always
swimming together, and always smart. Well, for some reason today,
one got stupid and took a Griffith's on the surface. Best part?
The FIRST ONE took a pass on the fly...#2 is obviously the "dumber"
in their pair. Great Psprings brookie coloration as always!
And all of that trout fishin' was in only 2 hours!
:) Alright, so you guys know the drill. I'm off the computer until
next week; I have 7 days of local fishing to look forward to. Canada
reports from earlier this month will come AFTER the forthcoming
7-day. So be patient and fish if you can!
