Bart headed home after our Pike outing, but I was determined to catch fish, so after midnight I started driving around to see what I could find. Departing from the Pike, I found myself heading to more seasonally appropriate bodies of water...my first stop was the mouth of the Pike River. Well actually I didn't "stop"...just drove by to count about 40 cars in the parking lot and parked on the main drag. On the beach I could see many lanterns dotting the locations of anglers all along the beach to the north AND the south of the outflow.
Not wanting to join that all-night fiasco, I headed over the Kenosha Harbor. Instead of setting up in my usual spot, I figured I'd go elsewhere.
The move didn't pay off for me, although two anglers to the left were hooking up fairly frequently on tight-lined bait offerings. In my time there I saw them land two kings. Somewhere close to 3:00 or 4:00 AM I found myself no longer fully coherent, rather frustrated, and ready to crawl into a warm, soft bed.
