11-03-04 - MP GETS FIRED...and goes fishin...
Waters Fished: Root River
Fish Caught: 0/0
Outing Date: 11-03-04
Weather: Cloudy
Air Temp: N/A
Water Temp: N/A
Water Level: peaking at 100 cfs
Water Color: Muddy, visibility about 6-9"
Fish Species: Coho Salmon
Pattern Fished: Eggs
Pattern Color: Nothing worked
Fishing Quality: So much for the "call in dead day"!
So much for thinkin' I'd retire at 40 with my job at Infotube....due
to financial troubles (couldn't afford to pay my salary any longer)
I was let go. And to think, two weeks prior I was given my first
raise in 3.5 years.
After running to file for unemployment, I was kinda left with a
few hours of nothing to do! What better way to spend them than on
the river, right?
Well, I did get the updated wier totals, but there was NOTHING
to be had downstream. Some Coho remained in the sanctuary, but otherwise
nothing was going on. I tried from 3:30 PM onward to the end of
civil twilight. I covered all the water in "middle Lincoln
Park" (between and including the 1st and 2nd bends downstream
of the wier)....never turned a fish and never even saw one!
Looking back on it now, I should've dashed upstream to locate the
fish that had been passed just the day prior! I guess I'll have
PLENTY of time on my hands to hit the water now...the 130 mark is
just a day away!
