It's a summer evening and I show up in Iowa to
teach fly fishing school. I have an hour or so before I need to
"be there" so what the heck..might as well put in time
on the water.
I headed upstream on the Waterloo to a little roadside
pool for some quick action. As the sun was rapidly setting a caddis
hatch came off in the riffles immediately upstream from where I
fished. It was serene.
All that quiet beauty was shattered with my rod
doubling over...FISH ON! All too quickly the fight was over, a marvelous
rainbow flopped in the net. Sorry, just want to make you late for
something and have the proof - snapped a picture and sent him on
his way.
Not too bad for 5 or 10 minutes of fishing :)
