After an excellent late spring / early summer Pike Season in 2005, I vowed that I would revisit the waters out our back porch in 2006! Well, between the home purchase and the new puppy, I was pretty tied up during the "prime time" opportunity. In fact, I hadn't even gotten to see my parents much this year!
Renee and I decided to head on up to visit and of course, I wasn't going to sit 10 yards from the water and NOT wet a line.
For the most part the evening of fishing was more a casting exercise..haul after double haul after triple haul trying to get those flies to cover as much water as possible while standing on the dock. At one point I hooked something...after the hookset it fought like a wet dishrag. It wasn't a fish, and wasn't exactly a dishrag...check the pics for yourself.
So, pretty much an uneventful evening on the water. Gorgeous as ever. So, 2007...that'll be the next time I probably get out to chase Pike!
