Chose a hook keeper!
You really only have a few choices here, so again
it's not a tough choice. Again, as with the rest of the rod's hardware,
I try to match finishes. So, chrome guides? Then you're looking
at a chrome hook keeper. You get the drift?
There are really only 2 styles I like. Most often
you'll know the standard U shaped hook keeper, commonly seen on
most rods. Pacific Bay manufactures these hook keepers in all their
standard finishes (Black, Chrome, Gold, TiCH). There are additional
finishes available (see the guides page).
The other option, kinda cool in my book, is the
Fuji Flip Up Hook Keeper. This hook keeper folds down along the
blank when not in use, making it less suceptible to damage. They
come in two sizes, large and small (typically small unless the rod
is 6wt or more). There are only two finishes available - Black and
Chrome.
