I built this with no-one in mind. According to my calculations, this rod has $125 labor in it - to order it the total cost would have been $173. I let it fly out the door for $95 + shipping! It now belongs to Paul Rechterman :)

Something about the color scheme reminds me of blue jeans, without the actual incorporation of denim into the rod (which is actually possible in the reel seat...they sell laminated denim blanks!).
 
Things I learned while building this rod

This was a straightforward build; I'd say the biggest part of the learning in this rod was simply acknowledging that although time-consuming, it pays off to do some basic "decorative" wraps on a rod. I've shaved a lot of time off the diamond wraps; these only took me about an hour or so.

Honestly, I'm not 100% on this, but I'm pretty sure this was "Sepitar Burl" for the insert on this Damon Rod's Reel Seat. The A Grade Grip and again, the reel seat. The hook keeper and nickle silver Struble winding check.

The buttwork when viewed from above. The stripper guide. Navy Blue ferrule wraps work well to simply disappear on the Forecast Blanks, allowing for no interuption in the overall "look" of the guide wraps on the rod.
Standard Pac Bay Chrome Snake Guides were used on this rod. A good look at the tip top wrap on rod #28.
