Main Wraps - Gudebrod HT Metallic, Size A, in Copper (9396). Ferrule wraps and Diamond wraps add Navy (0066).

This rod features some prototype work, including a mix of diamond/spiral wrap. Also one of the first reel seat inserts I've ever turned. Additionally, the grip was not finished with U-40 Cork Seal, but rather Gloss Man-o-War Marine Spar Varnish. Worst case scenario, I might expect the gloss finish on the grip to wear off, perhaps becoming cloudy (which could easily be fixed with a refinish). This rod would normally sell for $175, but considering the "prototype" nature I've made a price concession for the lucky person who ends up with it.

I learned that I'm better off leaving the insert turning to guys who really know what they're doing (i.e. Dave Winslow @ Winslow Rods). For every usable insert I've turned, I have 3 more that are trash!
