Well, here's the deal. I had an INLETTED A grade grip on
hand...I thought it would be large enough for the reel seat
skeleton. No dice, so I tried to bore it out. Let me tell
you now, it's really tough to bore out an inletted grip if
it's already bored out most of the way. I ended up "exploding"
the grip and having to rebuild the end with cork on hand...then
bore it out the right size the first time. It kinda came out
more shaped like my "fluted cigar" grips than a
reverse half wells.
Lesson learned - you're almost better off just boring out
all of your own grips, custom made or prefab!
